Greer State Bank is a progressive, community bank that is consistently rated one of America’s safest and strongest banks by the national bank rating firms.  With three convenient office locations, extended banking hours, and a broad range of financial services, they deliver a high level of convenience, value, and quality service.  Their experienced banking professionals are committed to a level of excellence in customer service that sets them apart from other banking organizations.  Their top priority is to provide the highest level of customer service possible whether you bank with them in person, by phone, or via the internet.

As community bankers who live and work in Greer, they have a vested interest in making the community better.  Greer State Bank (www.greerstatebank.com) supports many local organizations with financial assistance and through the volunteer efforts of their staff.

Sandy Boozer, Greer State Bank VP and Manager of IT, has been a CreekPointe customer for over 10 years. She is currently utilizing Platinum to upgrade the bank’s existing infrastructure to a Windows 2000 Active Directory domain.

Specific goals of the network upgrade include:

  • Eliminate older hardware from the network

  • Upgrade Windows NT servers to Windows 2000 servers

  • Implement Active Directory

  • Upgrade mail server to Microsoft Exchange 2000

  • Update Router software and maintenance

  • Upgrade client PC’s to Windows 2000

  • Develop and configure backup strategy

  • Configure anti-virus servers

By accomplishing these goals, Greer State Bank has a more reliable network that requires less day-to-day management.   Additionally, centralized management of all servers is accomplished using Terminal Server Administration mode.  By utilizing the group policies within a Windows 2000 domain structure, better management of the Windows 2000 desktop PC’s is achieved.   With the completion of this project, Sandy has more time to focus on core management responsibilities including, but not limited to, security, strategic planning, and FDIC policies and procedures.

In addition to this particular project, Greer State Bank uses their Platinum plan to address break / fix issues for PC’s, printers and servers.  Regarding Platinum Service on the whole, Sandy has this to say…

“When I call CreekPointe, I get a ‘real live’ person, not someone’s voicemail, and I talk to a person who is listening and is going to make sure I am taken care of.  The fact that I don’t have to leave a voicemail makes a big difference.  Because of this relationship with CreekPointe, I have a sense of security.  When I have an emergency, I am not gambling on the response and quality of service.”

“The CreekPointe group is excellent in their abilities and professional conduct.  Because we are a financial institution, customers look to us to provide an environment of security and confidentiality.  The CreekPointe technicians are courteous, professional, and proficient.   I have confidence in their ability to represent the bank and service our needs as we in turn service our customers.  They have gone a long way to help maintain this unique comfort level that we have established.  It is part of our success.”

“CreekPointe frees up at least 30% of my day allowing me to now be more proactive and contribute to our long-range projects of which scheduled PC replacement is an example.  In short, Platinum Service is a cost effective use of my time.”

Per Sandy, there are four things to consider regarding Platinum Service:

  • “There is security knowing I can pick up a phone and be a priority customer.  It’s like having good insurance.”

  • “I look at Platinum from a project-based perspective.  I end up getting more for the money.”

  • “CreekPointe knows how our systems interact.  In the event of my absence, they could provide support with minimal disruption.”

  • “The Platinum agreement gives me that sense of security.  It’s not ‘fix and run’—it’s a relationship.”
